Love, lust and ad campaigns

When companies advertise for their goods, products and services, they turn to ad agencies who in turn seek out photographers and modeling agencies, to develop a campaign that will entice us, the consumers to purchase, try or buy into, as it were, the ideal they wash to propagate. It is as it has been ever since the traveling salesman or the snake oil peddler in the west and beyond. It is now-a-days that ad agencies have come to the artist ( fashion, visual, graphic, and various models and even fitness trainers), to create a visual that will be both appealing to the eye and now to ones libido. it is not as blatant as it is in Europe, but the message is longstanding…”Sex Sells”

So let’s examine some of the leaders in this game, Fragrance, jewelry, Automotive, and yes, fashion industries, are showing a lot more skin than what use to be seen in the 80’s.  So what is it they are trying to sell us exactly? And another question is, are we buying into it?  As seen in the video for jewelry, there is a lot more being shown in this ad than just watches.
